Kimberley cruising returns

With a sigh of relief, we learnt this week that the Kimberley will open up to cruising.

Western Australia has decided to allow ships with up to 350 people on board to enter after 17 April which means that international expedition cruise operators will be able to return.

The Northern Territory has already decided to allow ships with the same capacity.

Ponant and Silversea Cruises will be back for this season with a range of protocols in place. All crews and passengers will be required to have had two vaccinations plus the third if eligible.

Larger cruise ships will be able to return to northern waters from October and Fremantle will once again be the cruising gateway for the west coast. Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth will be the first of the larger ships to visit Fremantle on 7 November.

In the 2019-20 season 106 cruise ships visited WA.

Kimberley cruising is one of the most popular cruises in our home waters. Contact us if you are interested in a particular cruise – or subscribe to our newsletter for regular updates.
